Chelsea, Juventus 'to battle for Stefan Savic'

Chelsea and Italian champions Juventus are reportedly both interested in signing Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic this summer.

Chelsea and Juventus are reportedly ready to do battle for the signature of Atletico Madrid defender Stefan Savic this summer.

Savic made 36 appearances for Diego Simeone's side last season, but is still considered to be behind Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez in the pecking order at the Wanda Metropolitano.

The 27-year-old is reportedly open to the idea of leaving the Spanish capital during the current transfer window, and Sky Italia claims that Chelsea and Juventus are both interested in his services.

Chelsea are still pursuing transfer targets despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the future of manager Antonio Conte as they look to bolster their squad in a bid to return to the top four next season.

Juventus, meanwhile, are thought to be lining up an overhaul of their ageing defensive unit and view Savic as an ideal candidate to help the transition.

Savic, who spent a season at Manchester City earlier in his career, has been at Atletico for the past three years.
