Chelsea, Manchester City 'in battle for 16-year-old George Bello'

Chelsea and Manchester City will go head to head for the signature of Atlanta United's 16-year-old defender George Bello, according to a report.

Chelsea and Manchester City are reportedly preparing to go head to head for the signature of young Atlanta United defender George Bello.

Bello was born in Nigeria, but moved to the United States at a young age and made his first-team debut for Atalanta last weekend despite only turning 16 earlier this year.

The left-back's debut came against Wayne Rooney's DC United team, and he could now be heading for a move to Europe.

According to Calciomercato, Man City boss Pep Guardiola has already enquired over the defender's availability, while fellow Premier League giants Chelsea are also interested in the teenager.

Bello is believed to have played as a centre-forward during his youth career, but has since developed into a left-back.
