There will be two mouth-watering derbies in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup, as Old Firm giants Celtic and Rangers have been drawn against each other, while Hearts will take on Edinburgh rivals Hibernian.

For the first time in Scottish Cup history, the big four from Glasgow and Edinburgh have all made it to the semi-final stage, though hopes of an Old Firm final in this competition for the first time since 2001 are now over.

Celtic eased to a 3-0 victory at Dundee United on Monday night, thanks to a second-half brace from Giorgos Giakoumakis and a first-half opener from Callum McGregor.

Their opponents in the last four also cruised to a 3-0 success, with goals from Connor Goldson, James Tavernier and Fashion Sakala helping Rangers beat Dundee at Dens Park on Sunday.

As for Hearts, they overcame a spirited St Mirren outfit to win 4-2 at Tynecastle, with Beni Baningime, Peter Haring, Aaron McEneff and Ellis Simms all on the scoresheet for the hosts.

Hibernian, meanwhile, claimed a slender 2-1 away victory against 10-man Motherwell, thanks to a first-half brace from January signing Elias Melkersen.

Both semi-finals will take place at Hampden Park and will be played on the weekend of April 16 and 17.
