Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers eager to extend perfect Hampden Park record

Brendan Rodgers is confident that he can extend his perfect record at Hampden Park when Celtic face Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers is hoping to extend his perfect record at Hampden Park when Celtic face Rangers in Sunday's Scottish Cup semi-final clash.

The Hoops have won all six fixtures at Scotland's national stadium while Rodgers has been in charge, lifting three trophies along the way.

"I'm very excited," Rodgers told the club's official website on Thursday.

"These are always tense games but in the main we've always played well at Hampden and been very good, so hopefully we can have a similar performance and a similar result to each of the times we've been there.

"In those types of games we have normally performed well, which you want to do, so this weekend we'll take that confidence into it.

"You always pay attention in these games as they are tense matches but we want to go in and play our football, and at least now we have a free week to get ready and prepare for that."

Celtic also sit top of the Scottish Premiership standings, 13 points clear of second-placed Rangers, and are one win away from their seventh successive title.
