Patrick Roberts: 'Celtic will show no fear at Allianz Arena'

Celtic winger Patrick Roberts believes that the key to earning a shock result away to Bayern Munich is to stay positive, much like his side did against Anderlecht.

Patrick Roberts has urged his Celtic teammates to "be positive and show no fear" when they take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Bhoys are seeking back-to-back wins in Group B after easing past Anderlecht in their most recent outing, putting them level on points with European heavyweights Bayern.

Despite the recent turmoil in Bavaria, culminating in Carlo Ancelotti being replaced by Jupp Heynckes in the dugout, the Bundesliga champions remain a formidable force and Roberts expects a very tough test.

"I mean, they are one of the best teams in world football, they have loads of quality players - [Robert] Lewandowski, [Thomas] Muller, [Arjen] Robben – so we will have to be really on our game," he told reporters. "But these are the occasions we strive for and enjoy. So we will look forward to that, be positive and show no fear - hopefully things will work out for us.

"I think it just showed our quality and our intent this year, particularly after the first game [when losing heavily to Paris Saint-Germain]. We had that mentality not to let that happen again. We have a great bunch of quality players and we knew that we could go and get a result there.

"We did that, we played our normal game which I didn't really expect, but we did. To go there and score three goals away from home was top drawer and we will take that into our next games."

Bayern have won two of their last five games in all competitions, hammering Freiburg 5-0 in their most recent outing.
