Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has revealed his "joy" after his side claimed the Primera Division title on Saturday evening.

A 1-1 draw at Barcelona was enough for the capital outfit to win their first Spanish league crown since 1996.

"This is massive, a huge joy that I can't put into words," Inside Spanish Football quotes the Argentine as saying.

"I have to thank all the players and the people who believed in us, like Miguel Angel Gil, Enrique Cerezo and of course, Luis Aragones... who I'm sure was there in spirit defending with us."

Atletico face Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League next weekend.
