Barcelona are reportedly prepared for Ansu Fati to miss the remainder of the season, with the club not willing to rush him back despite their battle for a top-four spot in La Liga.

The Spain international missed around nine months with a serious knee injury before returning to action last September, but he has since suffered two setbacks.

Fati picked up his latest hamstring issue during the Copa del Rey contest with Athletic Bilbao on January 20, but he decided against undergoing surgery despite the recommendation from medical professionals.

According to AS, Barcelona will play it safe when it comes to the attacker's recovery, and the club are prepared for him to miss the remainder of the campaign unless it is safe for him to return.

The report claims that the club want the 19-year-old to have at least three weeks of group training before being considered for selection, and he will not be involved in El Clasico next month despite suggestions that he could be ready to return against Real Madrid.

Fati has scored five times and registered one assist in 10 appearances for Barcelona this season, while he has represented the club on 53 occasions since making his debut in 2019. body check tags ::
