The summer transfer window has now closed, shutting the door on one of the most turbulent spells in Barcelona's history.

The Spanish giants were rocked by Lionel Messi's request to leave the club, sparking a bitter contract dispute which ultimately ended with the six-time Ballon d'Or winner reluctantly agreeing to stay for at least another season.

Other notable names such as Luis Suarez, Ivan Rakitic and Arturo Vidal did leave, though, while Messi's future is sure to be the subject of much more speculation going forward.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest transfer news from the Camp Nou.

Friday morning's Barcelona transfer talk news roundup:

Leandro Paredes: 'We all want Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain'

Midfielder Leandro Paredes has called on Paris Saint-Germain to make an approach for Barcelona forward Lionel Messi.

With his contract due to expire next summer, the 33-year-old is currently in a position where he can hold discussions with foreign clubs in January.

Manchester City, managed by Messi's former boss Pep Guardiola, remain as favourites to get a deal over the line for the Argentine superstar.

However, speaking after PSG's win over Manchester United in the Champions League, Paredes acknowledged that he would like to see his compatriot at Parc des Princes.

Paredes is quoted by The Mirror as saying: "What I want the most is to enjoy playing with him again. He can play in my role, it wouldn't be a problem with me. For sure, next year we have to do it."

Neymar has also revealed that he wants to play with his former Barca teammate during the 2021-22 campaign.

Neymar talks up Lionel Messi reunion "next season"

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has fuelled speculation over Lionel Messi's future by stating that he wants to reunite with his former Barcelona teammate next season.

Messi came close to leaving Camp Nou in the summer only to reverse his decision after a dispute regarding his release clause, but the six-time Ballon d'Or winner is now in the final year of his deal with the Catalan giants.

PSG have been one of the clubs linked with a sensational swoop for Messi, while Neymar has also been tipped to complete a switch back to Barcelona in recent months.

The Brazilian has now hinted that one of those scenarios could happen, saying in quotes attributed to ESPN: "What I want most of all is to play with Messi again, to be able to enjoy him once again on the pitch.

"He can play in my place, I have no problem with that! But I want to play with him next year, for sure. We have to do it next season."

Neymar played a starring role in PSG's victory at Old Trafford in the Champions League, scoring two goals as the French champions ran out 3-1 winners against Manchester United on Wednesday evening.
