William Saliba 'still unsure on Arsenal future'

William Saliba suggests that he does not know whether he will return to Arsenal next season after winning the Ligue 1 Young Player Of The Year award.

Marseille loanee William Saliba has suggested that he is solely focused on trying to deliver Champions League football for his current club, rather than thinking about his future at Arsenal.

After being sent out on loan by the Gunners last summer, Saliba has enjoyed the best season of his career, which has been capped individually by winning the Ligue 1 Young Player Of The Year award.

With two years remaining on his Arsenal contract, it remains unclear whether the defender will represent the North London outfit next season or be sold for a profit.

However, the 21-year-old has indicated that he is only trying to ensure that Marseille claim a top-three position in the standings on the final day of the season.

Speaking at Sunday's award ceremony, Saliba said: "It's an honour, a source of pride. I dedicate this trophy to my teammates, my club and the supporters.

"Did I play my last match with OM? I don't know. The future will tell us. The most important thing is to confirm this good season by qualifying for the Champions League. Afterwards, we'll see."

Marseille will guarantee third spot if they avoid defeat against Strasbourg at the weekend, while bettering Monaco's result will move the club into an automatic qualifying place. body check tags ::
