Report: Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal battling for Pablo Fornals

A report claims that Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals is a summer transfer target for North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal.

North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are reportedly set to go head to head for the signature of Villarreal midfielder Pablo Fornals.

Both clubs are said to have been keeping tabs on the 23-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window, having been impressed by his displays in La Liga and the Europa League this term.

Napoli are rumoured to have already made their interest known and, according to The Express, Tottenham and Arsenal may also now enter the bidding for the twice-capped Spain international.

However, Unai Emery has apparently been told that he must first find a buyer for Mesut Ozil before he can make a move, possibly giving Tottenham a head start.

Fornals has a combined nine goals and assists in 37 appearances for Villarreal this season, being used predominantly in attacking midfield.
