Arsenal centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos emerges as a transfer target for Napoli, according to a report.

Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos this summer.

The 32-year-old made 29 appearances for the Gunners during the 2019-20 campaign but only featured three times in the Premier League in 2020.

Sokratis still has a contract at the Emirates Stadium until next June, but it has been suggested that he is available this summer following the arrivals of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes.

According to Sky Sports News, Napoli are keen on a deal for the Greece international and are hopeful of signing him on a free transfer.

The Italian giants were linked with Gabriel before the Brazilian's switch to Mikel Arteta's side, while they could soon be in the market for a replacement for Manchester City-linked Kalidou Koulibaly.

Sokratis has made 69 appearances for Arsenal since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in 2018.
