The agent of Arsenal midfielder Jorginho says that the Italy international will not be moving to Fenerbahce.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho will not be joining Fenerbahce over the coming days, according to the player's agent.

At the end of the January transfer window, Jorginho left Chelsea to complete a surprise move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Italy international made a total of 14 appearances in the Premier League but was unable to help the Gunners to the top-flight title.

Despite his regular outings during 2022-23, the 31-year-old has since fallen down the pecking order at the North Londoners with Mikel Arteta preferring other options.

Declan Rice has been signed from West Ham United, Kai Havertz is being used in a deeper role than he is used to, and Fabio Vieira has made a positive impact during the opening weeks.

As a result, there have been suggestions that Jorginho may be interested in taking on a new challenge elsewhere, as well as Arsenal being open to cashing in on a player who has less than 12 months remaining on his contract.

Fenerbahce have been credited as a potential destination for Jorginho at a time when the Turkish transfer window remains open for at least another week.

However, Jorginho's represent Joao Santos has insisted that his client will not be looking to move on to pastures new.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Santos said: "Jorginho is focused on Arsenal, on the Premier League title race and the Champions League. He won't go to Fenerbahce.

While the development may come as a blow to head coach Ismail Kartal, Fenerbahce have enjoyed a strong start to the new campaign.

Three successive victories have been recorded in the Super Lig to put Fenerbahce top of the standings at this stage, while they have also qualified for the Europa Conference League.

Fenerbahce have already made an array of high-profile additions this summer, with the likes of Fred, Dusan Tadic and Edin Dzeko among the players to move to the Şukru Saracoglu Stadium.

From Jorginho's perspective, he will hope to receive more game time after the international break having only accumulated 18 minutes across three substitute appearances thus far. body check tags ::
