Arsenal 'considering move for Patrick van Aanholt'

Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt emerges as a transfer target for Arsenal, according to a report.

Arsenal are reportedly weighing up a move for Crystal Palace defender Patrick van Aanholt.

Sead Kolasinac's departure has left the Gunners short of options at left-back, while Kieran Tierney's recent injury problems have seen Cedric Soares deployed in that area of the field.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta recently claimed that his club could be in the market for a new left-back before the end of the January transfer window, and Southampton's Ryan Bertrand has been linked with a possible move.

However, according to The Mirror, Van Aanholt has now emerged as a target, with the 30-year-old potentially available for a cut-price fee as his contract at Selhurst Park is due to expire this summer.

The Netherlands international has featured on more than 200 occasions in the Premier League but has found himself out of favour with Roy Hodgson's side in recent weeks, only featuring in one of Palace's last six league matches.

Van Aanholt has made 123 appearances for the Eagles since arriving from Sunderland in 2017. body check tags ::
