Arsenal close to making double signing?

Arsenal are reportedly close to announcing the double signing of Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Arsenal have reportedly moved to the brink of completing deals for both Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno and Sampdoria midfielder Lucas Torreira.

Since replacing Arsene Wenger at the Emirates Stadium, Unai Emery has been proactive in the transfer market, with Stephan Lichtsteiner having already joined from Juventus on a free transfer.

Reports have also suggested that the Gunners are in advanced negotiations with both Leno and Torreira, and according to The Telegraph, an announcement regarding both transfers is not far away.

A number of European clubs have been linked with Germany international Leno, but it appears that the 26-year-old has chosen to become the new number one at the North London outfit.

Emery has also highlighted central midfield as an area to improve, and Torreira is allegedly the player who will come in to add strength in front of the defence.

The report claims that Arsenal will pay in the region of £48m to complete the two transfers.
