Mauricio Pochettino has reportedly shown reluctance in giving the green light for a deal to sign Dusan Vlahovic.

The Juventus frontman has suffered from a combination of injuries and a loss of confidence since joining from Fiorentina 18 months ago.

The Serbian showed electric form for La Viola, earning a €70m (£60m) move to the Allianz Stadium after netting 38 Serie A goals in a season-and-a-half.

However, in the 18 months since, Vlahovic has just 17 goals in the league, and often found himself out of Massimiliano Allegri's side behind Arkadiusz Milik.

Chelsea 'outbid Liverpool for Romeo Lavia'

Chelsea have reportedly outbid Liverpool in an attempt to prise Romeo Lavia away from Southampton.

Liverpool's third and most recent bid of £45m for the Belgian midfielder was rejected by the Saints earlier this week.

Southampton remain committed to holding out for £50m, despite their relegation to the Championship.

Chelsea have spent much of the summer chasing Brighton & Hove Albion's Moises Caicedo, but after a £80m bid was rejected, the club may be shifting attention towards a move for Lavia.

QPR sign Steve Cook from Nottingham Forest

"I'm really pleased to be here and looking forward to seeing what we can do as a team," he told the club website.

"My time in the Championship has been quite successful, and that success is something I want to bring here.

"I don't want my career to peter out, I still really want to be successful and to contest. I still have aims and targets I want to achieve and I'm hoping that the success I've had in my career so far continues so that I can help push QPR forward."

Arsenal 'to sign David Raya on initial loan deal'

Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms to sign Brentford goalkeeper David Raya on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.

An exit from the club has been on the cards after Raya played just 45 minutes in pre-season, with new signing Mark Flekken often utilised on their tour of the US.

Sky Sports News claims that Arsenal hope to have the loan deal confirmed before the registration window for the opening weekend of the Premier League season passes.

For Raya to be involved in the matchday squad for their league opener against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, he must be registered by midday on Friday.

Fulham 'expect to sign Chelsea's Hudson-Odoi this week'

Fulham reportedly expect to complete the signing of Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi later this week.

The Blues academy graduate has been back at Stamford Bridge ever since Bayer Leverkusen opted against taking up the option of a permanent deal after his loan spell in Germany during 2022-23.

However, despite the possibility of a fresh start under Mauricio Pochettino, the 22-year-old has never been considered as a part of the Argentine's plans.

Hudson-Odoi has spent pre-season training at Cobham and representing the Under-21s in friendlies in order to keep his fitness ticking over ahead of a move.

However, since he first burst onto the scene, the former England Under-21 international has been heavily linked to one of the bigger teams in the Premier League.

A transfer is yet to materialise, Aarons not helped by featuring in two relegation campaigns with the Canaries and a failed promotion bid from the Championship in 2022-23.

Dean Henderson is still at the club, but the England international is not in the plans of head coach Erik ten Hag and is widely expected to move on before the end of the transfer window.

Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz before the end of this summer's transfer window.

Luiz scored seven times and registered six assists in 40 appearances for Unai Emery's side last season, including six goals and six assists in 37 Premier League outings.

The Brazilian signed a new contract extension at Villa Park last October, with his current deal due to run until June 2026, but there has been fresh speculation surrounding his future this summer.
