How Chelsea could line up against Arsenal

Sports Mole takes an in-depth look at how Chelsea could line up for Tuesday's Premier League London derby with Arsenal.

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has been handed a significant fresh triple blow ahead of Tuesday's Premier League London derby against Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Blues return to top-flight duty on the back of a crushing 1-0 loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-finals, where they were made to pay for wasting several opportunities.

All of Reece James (thigh), Wesley Fofana (knee), Lesley Ugochukwu (thigh), Christopher Nkunku (thigh), Romeo Lavia (thigh), Robert Sanchez (illness) and Levi Colwill (toe) missed that match, and the seven stricken men have no chance of returning here either.

In another major blow, top scorer Cole Palmer is expected to miss out due to illness, while Malo Gusto and Ben Chilwell are both undergoing assessment for knee injuries and should not be risked either.

Away from their 10-man infirm list, Djordje Petrovic will continue to guard the sticks, potentially with Trevoh Chalobah and Benoit Badiashile in front of him if 39-year-old Thiago Silva is not risked for two games in the space of four days.

Chilwell would have been a candidate to take over from Marc Cucurella, but the Spaniard will almost certainly reprise his role on the left due to the Englishman's concern, while Axel Disasi should come in for Malo Gusto on the opposite flank.

Moises Caicedo, who escaped a sending off for two possible yellow-card offences at Wembley, reprises his regular midfield role with Enzo Fernandez, with captain Conor Gallagher operating just ahead of the pair.

Despite his incredibly profligate display against Man City, Nicolas Jackson should still act as the Blues' focal point, potentially alongside the reintroduced Raheem Sterling and Mykhaylo Mudryk over Noni Madueke and the ill Palmer.

Chelsea possible starting lineup:
Petrovic; Disasi, Chalobah, Badiashile, Cucurella; Fernandez, Caicedo; Sterling, Gallagher, Mudryk; Jackson
