Robert Pires: 'I want to work with Arsene Wenger'

Former Arsenal winger Robert Pires reveals that he is desperate to one day work alongside Arsene Wenger.

Former Arsenal winger Robert Pires has revealed that he is desperate to one day work alongside Arsene Wenger.

Pires, 44, represented Arsenal between 2000 and 2006 - winning two Premier League titles and two FA Cups during his time with the London club.

The Frenchman is currently an ambassador for Arsenal, while he still regularly trains with the club's first team in order to keep in shape for the Arsenal legends side.

Pires, however, has revealed that he has an ambition to become part of Wenger's staff at the Emirates Stadium.

"I'm still training with the first team and my ambition is to work in Arsene Wenger's staff one day," Pires told Goal.com. "For the moment I don't have any news but it's not urgent.

"I'm an ambassador for the club, I work for French TV, I travel with the Arsenal legends and my schedule is busy at the moment, but my ambition is to work with Arsene Wenger and Arsenal.

"When you are an ex-footballer you want to stay with the one team and one club, and Arsenal is my club."

Pires's 10-year-old son Theo is a part of the academy system at Arsenal.
