Leicester City will attempt to end a 25-year winless run when they face Arsenal on Saturday.

The Foxes began the month of February with consecutive victories over Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur, racking up four goals in both games.

However, they were unable to claim a third straight win last weekend, as Manchester United brought them crashing back down to earth.

A Marcus Rashford brace and a Jadon Sancho strike condemned Leicester to a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford.

The loss to Man United leaves Leicester firmly in a relegation battle with four points separating them from the bottom three.

Their task does not get any easier this weekend as they prepare to face an Arsenal side who are currently two points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal's current position will not fill Leicester with any confidence as they have tended to struggle against teams who lead the way in the top flight.

Since beating Man United 1-0 in January 1998, Leicester have failed to win their last 18 Premier League games against teams that started the day top of the league.

In that period, Leicester faced an Arsenal side who had already been crowned champions on the final day of the Gunners' 2003-04 invincible campaign.

The Foxes took the lead through Paul Dickov on that occasion, but Thierry Henry levelled from the spot before Patrick Vieira scored the winner in the 66th minute.

Since beating Arsenal 1-0 in October 2020, Leicester have lost their last four meetings with the Gunners, including a 4-2 defeat earlier this season.

They are now at risk of losing five consecutive top-flight games against Arsenal for the first time since the early 1930s.

While Jamie Vardy has had to settle for minutes off the bench in recent weeks, he could be pivotal to Leicester's chances of claiming a victory on Saturday.

The former England international has scored 11 Premier League goals against the Gunners - more than any other opponent he has faced.

Brendan Rodgers, meanwhile, is sweating on the fitness of James Maddison, who will need to be assessed ahead of the game due to a knee issue.
