Arsenal 'to offer Rob Holding new contract'

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to offer centre-back Rob Holding - currently on the sidelines with a knee injury - a new contract.

Arsenal are reportedly preparing to offer Rob Holding a new and improved contract.

Holding has been with Arsenal since a 2016 move from Bolton Wanderers, making 60 appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

The 23-year-old will not play again this season having picked up a serious knee injury in December.

Holding had been a regular in the first half of the campaign, however, and according to The Mirror, Arsenal are preparing to offer the centre-back fresh terms to reflect his importance to the team.

The Englishman's current deal will run until the summer of 2023, but the report has claimed that Holding can expect an increase on his basic salary.

Unai Emery's side will attempt to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they welcome Southampton to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
