Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte blasts Mikel Arteta over the Arsenal manager's complaints about his side's fixture schedule.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte has hit back at Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta over the Gunners boss' fixture complaints.

Arsenal's five-game winning run in the Premier League came to an end with a 2-0 loss to Liverpool in midweek, and the Gunners have less than 72 hours to recover before facing Aston Villa on Saturday lunchtime.

Arteta blasted the Premier League over his side's fixture scheduling following the defeat to the Reds, but Conte has sought to remind the Spaniard of Arsenal's successful request to postpone the North London derby due to low squad numbers, even though the Gunners had few COVID-19 cases at the time.

Speaking to the press ahead of Sunday's clash with West Ham United, Conte said: "Arteta should remember the game postponed. Tottenham-Arsenal. In general, I think my answer is enough.

"If someone wants to think about fair or unfair. We postponed the game, Tottenham-Arsenal. I don't forget this. And it's not right to speak about fair or unfair."

Tottenham enter the weekend seventh in the Premier League table - three places and three points worse off than fourth-placed Arsenal, who also have a game in hand on their North London rivals. body check tags ::
