Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Community Shield encounter with Liverpool.

Arsenal continue their preparations for the new Premier League campaign on Saturday as they take on Liverpool in the Community Shield.

The game marks an immediate return to Wembley Stadium for the Gunners, who came from behind to record a 2-1 victory over Chelsea in the FA Cup final on August 1.

While Arteta will be focused on ensuring that none of his squad members return to the treatment room over the coming weeks, this game represents an opportunity for players to impress the Spaniard ahead of the start of a congested season.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Arsenal's latest fitness concerns in the days leading up to the encounter against the top-flight champions.

Shkodran Mustafi

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: Unknown

Having sustained a significant thigh injury during July's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City, Mustafi is currently aiming to return to first-team action at some point in October.

Gabriel Martinelli

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Martinelli underwent knee surgery earlier this summer, subsequently ruling him out in the long term. As it stands, the Brazilian is unlikely to be back in contention until 2021.

Pablo Mari

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

While Mari is making good progress from the ankle injury which he sustained against Man City in the middle of June, the centre-back is not expected to be fit for the start of the upcoming campaign.

Calum Chambers

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

A serious knee injury sustained at the turn of the year has left Chambers on the sidelines without any possible return date. While October was once suggested, it was recently claimed that the Englishman may require until the end of the year to get back up to speed.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no suspension issues heading into this contest.
