Arsenal are reportedly considering moves for Paris Saint-Germain's Georginio Wijnaldum and Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic this month.

Wijnaldum has struggled to settle in the French capital since arriving from Liverpool last summer, and Mikel Arteta has confirmed that the Gunners are in the market for a new midfielder in January.

Meanwhile, Arsenal are thought to be at the head of the queue for in-demand striker Vlahovic, although there are fears that they could be priced out of a winter move for the 21-year-old.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how Arsenal could line up with Wijnaldum and Vlahovic should they complete an audacious double swoop this month.

Even if one or both of Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette extend their stays at Arsenal - not to mention the uncertain future of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Serie A's leading goalscorer Vlahovic would undeniably spearhead the charge.

As a result, Gabriel Martinelli would likely continue on the left ahead of Emile Smith Rowe, with Martin Odegaard and Bukayo Saka continuing in Arteta's 4-2-3-1 for the time being.

Should Wijnaldum make the switch to the Emirates while Thomas Partey is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty, the Dutchman would partner ever-present Granit Xhaka at the base of the midfield.

Arteta does have the option to include Partey, Xhaka and Wijnaldum in a 4-3-3 once the former returns from AFCON, but the Arsenal boss would likely be reluctant to sacrifice Odegaard's number 10 role.

William Saliba is expected to be integrated into the first team for the 2022-23 season, but the Frenchman will still have a hard time displacing Ben White or Gabriel Magalhaes in the heart of defence.

Neither Cedric Soares nor Nuno Tavares covered themselves in glory during the recent FA Cup defeat to Nottingham Forest, with Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu indispensable to Arteta alongside undisputed number one Aaron Ramsdale.
