Inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi has reportedly emerged as a potential transfer target for Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri currently has Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud at his disposal, but neither player has regularly found the back of the net this season.

According to The Sun, the Blues are beginning to run out of patience with Morata and that could lead to a January offer for Icardi.

The Argentine has admirers all over Europe having scored 103 goals from 165 appearances in Serie A since 2013, and the report suggests that Inter would demand £90m for the 25-year-old's signature.

Chelsea are said to have identified AC Milan's Patrick Cutrone as a cheaper alternative, but the 20-year-old would still cost big money after already finding the back of the net 11 times from 34 outings in Italy's top flight.
