Cher has announced that her mother Georgia Holt has died at the age of 96.
Holt was a singer-songwriter in her own right, and in 2013 she released a country album recorded 30 years earlier.
Together with grandson Chaz Bono, Holt made a guest appearance on RuPaul's Drag Race in 2014 and was also the subject of a documentary produced by Cher called Dear Mom, Love Cher.
Taking to Twitter late on Saturday, Cher wrote: "Mom is gone😔"
Earlier this year the music legend revealed that her mother had been hospitalised with pneumonia but was on the mend.
Holt was married and divorced six times but since 1976 was in a relationship with partner Craig Spencer.
