Joe Wicks spends night in hospital on IV drip

:Headline: Joe Wicks spends night in hospital on IV drip:
Body Coach Joe Wicks spends a night in hospital on a morphine drip after his injured wrist leaves him in "throbbing and pulsating" pain.

Joe Wicks spent last night in hospital after complaining of "throbbing and pulsating pain".

The 33-year-old, who has been giving free daily PE lessons on YouTube during the coronavirus lockdown, had minor surgery in March after injuring his wrist.

The Body Coach has since been working out wearing a bandage over his wrist but had to go to hospital yesterday when the pain became too much.

"They aren't able to do the operation today, they have other patients in the queue," he told fans on Instagram. "They are a bit slower with certain things so I'm staying tonight.

"They're going to give me some nice morphine, and some antibiotics on the drip-a-roo. In the morning, hopefully first thing, I'll be having the wires taken out.

"I tell you what, this infection is no joke. I've had codeine up to my eyeballs. They gave me liquid morphine, but it ain't taking the edge off it. It's throbbing."

Wicks is expected to be well enough to lead his PE lesson as usual on Monday morning.
