Line of Duty's Martin Compston has been confirmed for a guest appearance as filming gets underway on the second series of Red Eye.
The first series of the ITV thriller - broadcast last April to more than 8 million viewers - was set mainly on an international flight as man suspected of murder, played by Richard Armitage, was being extradited to China under the supervision of DS Hana Li (Jing Lusi).
During the flight, however, passengers started to be murdered - and as Li investigated, she uncovered an international conspiracy implicating several agencies and governments.
While Armitage is not returning for series two, Lusi is back as Li alongside Lesley Sharp as MI5 boss Madeline Delaney and Jemma Moore as Li's journalist sister Jess Li.
The storyline for series two - and Compston's role - have yet to be revealed, although the broadcaster said that the new series will bring "a new conspiracy to solve in the highly pressurised world of Red Eye".
"I'm delighted to be joining the Red Eye team," said Compston. "[I'm] hoping to build on the massive success of the first series and give viewers another thrilling ride."
Lusi added: "I'm incredibly excited to return to the world of Red Eye, and thrilled to be sharing this rollercoaster with the brilliant Martin Compston."
The new series is expected to air at some point in late 2025 or early 2026.
