Result: New Zealand wrap up series whitewash against West Indies

New Zealand wrap up a 2-0 series whitewash over West Indies courtesy of a 240-run victory at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

New Zealand have sealed a 2-0 series victory over the West Indies courtesy of a 240-run win in the second Test at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

The hosts thrashed the Windies by an innings and 67 runs in the first Test, and they once again cruised to victory at Seddon Park, clinching a series whitewash with a day to spare.

The tourists went into day four needing 414 runs to win, but their chase got off to a poor start as Kieran Powell (0), Shimron Hetmyer (15), Kraigg Braithwaite (20) and Shai Hope (23) all failed to kickstart a fightback.

Having lost their top order with only 68 runs on the board - soon to be followed by Sunil Ambris (5) who retired and Shane Dowrich who was caught for a duck - it looked inevitable that the Windies would fall to another heavy defeat.

Roston Chase did put up some resistance, but when he was dismissed for 64 any slim hopes of even reaching the final day left with him.

Raymon Reifer (29) and Kemar Roach (32) did their best to frustrate the hosts, but West Indies were eventually bowled out for just 203, with Neil Wagner the pick of the bunch with three wickets.
