Liam Plunkett is expecting another "niggly" World Cup encounter when England take on Bangladesh in Cardiff.

England suffered their first defeat of the tournament during a tetchy meeting with Pakistan on Monday, when a split Trent Bridge crowd helped pile the pressure on the hosts.

The Tigers are next up on Saturday at Sophia Gardens and Plunkett would not be surprised if it is another tense affair.

"Pakistan are pretty good like that, they can get niggly," he said.

"When they're on top they're good at doing that. Similarly Bangladesh, India, they're good at doing that, good at appealing quite a lot. It's just the way they play their cricket.

"But we've played in big competitions, guys have played around the world – at IPL and Big Bash in front of big crowds – it shouldn't be too much for the players."
