British featherweight Josh Warrington has admitted that opponent Joel Brunker will be eager to "prove a point" when the two clash in Leeds on Saturday night.

Last year, Brunker suffered his only career defeat to Lee Selby, and Warrington has acknowledged that he is going to have to step up his level of performance against the Australian.

The 24-year-old told Sky Sports News: "The last time he was over here he lost to Lee Selby, the IBF world champion, so he's going to want to prove a point.

"He's hungry and, like I say, he wants to come to win, so that means I've got to be 100% on my game and I can't let it slip. If I get through this, which I'm very confident of doing, then I think I can step on to the big world stage."

The bout at the First Direct Arena is for the Commonwealth and WBC international belts.
