Ethiopia's Almaz Ayana has won Olympic gold in the women's 10,000m at the Rio Games, breaking the world record in the process.
The 24-year-old, racing the distance on the track for only the second time, finished in 29 minutes 17.45 seconds, breaking the previous record by over 14 seconds.
Kenya's Vivian Cheriot, the 2012 bronze medallist, finished second in 29:32.53, while defending champion Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia set a personal best time of 29:42.56 but finished third.
Great Britain's Jo Pavey, competing at her fifth Games, ended the race in 15th - one place ahead of Team GB teammate Jessica Andrews - in a season's best time of 31:33.44.
