Johanna Konta has withdrawn from her semi-final contest in Eastbourne with a back injury.

On Thursday, the British number one recorded wins over French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko and world number one Angelique Kerber, but the two contests came at a cost.

On match point against Kerber, the 26-year-old suffered a heavy fall at the back of the court and she required several minutes of treatment before completing the win.

However, she has chosen to pull out of her match against Karolina Pliskova and instead focus her attempts on trying to recover ahead of the start of Wimbledon on Monday.

Earlier on Friday, she was drawn to face Hsieh Su-Wei, to whom she lost in the first round of Roland Garros last month.
