Result: Kyle Edmund beats top seed Jack Sock in Atlanta

British number two Kyle Edmund reaches his second ATP Tour semi-final with an impressive win over top seed Jack Sock at the Atlanta Open.

Kyle Edmund has reached the Atlanta Open semi-finals with an impressive straight-sets win over Jack Sock.

The British number two is looking to accumulate ranking points ahead of trying to defend his fourth-round place at the US Open last year, and the 22-year-old has given himself a huge boost with a 6-4 6-1 triumph over the American top seed.

Sock - the world number 19 - registered the first break of serve, but Edmund hit back to claim two breaks of his own to move closer to the last four.

The second set was plain sailing for Edmund, who struck on two more occasions and dropped just one point on his serve to run out the victor in 88 minutes.

Edmund will now meet Ryan Harrison for a place in the final, where the winner will face either John Isner or Gilles Muller.
