Eddie Jones says that he has selected a 'balanced' England squad for the upcoming Six Nations after including six uncapped players in his 36-man group.

Alfie Barbeary, Orlando Bailey, Ollie Hassell-Collins, Luke Northmore, Ollie Chessum and Tommy Freeman all have opportunities to represent their country for the first time.

Manu Tuilagi and Sam Underhill are among the high-profile absentees due to injury, but captain Owen Farrell is given a chance to prove his fitness after an ankle problem.

Speaking after naming his squad, Jones said: "Selecting this squad has been a difficult task, we've got plenty of good young players coming through and some of our more experienced are rediscovering their best form.

"We think this 36 for the first training week reflects a good balance of that experience and up-and-coming talent."

England get their campaign underway when they square off against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 5. body check tags ::
