Tiger Woods has suggested that he is excited about the physical improvements that he has made since making a surprise appearance at the Masters last month.

In his first professional appearance since severely breaking his right leg in a car accident 14 months earlier, Woods defied the odds to finish in 47th position at Augusta.

The legendary American has made no secret of the fact that he will never play a full schedule on the PGA Tour going forward, instead limiting his appearances to the majors and other high-profile competitions.

However, a month since impressing at the first major of the year, Woods has indicated that he feels more prepared for this week's US PGA Championship at Southern Hills.

Speaking to Golfweek, the 46-year-old said: "I've gotten a lot stronger since the Masters. We went back to work on Tuesday (after the Masters). Monday was awful; I did nothing and Tuesday was leg day. So we went right back after it. Everything is better."

Woods added: "Am I ever going to have full mobility? No. Never again. But I'll be able to get stronger. It's going to ache, but that's the way it's going to be."

In 2007, Woods won the last US PGA Championship to be held at Southern Hills, which represented the 13th of his 15 major titles.
