West Ham United manager David Moyes believes that Kurt Zouma's "winning mentality" can benefit the entire squad this campaign and going forward.
The 26-year-old joined the Hammers from Chelsea for around £25m in the final few days of this summer's transfer window, signing a four-year contract.
Zouma, who has featured in two of West Ham's last three fixtures against Dinamo Zagreb and Manchester United, won five trophies with the Blues and Moyes believes that success can only help his Hammers side and the teammates he will play alongside.
"If you are 26 and a centre-half you are not quite ready to be at the top, the best years are still to come and hopefully at West Ham. He has come from a club with a winning mentality and I hope he brings that to us as well," Moyes said to the press ahead of West Ham's clash with Leeds United on Saturday.
Moyes has also spoken about the competition for places at centre-back and feels his side now have greater strength in depth in this department.
"I don't know any successful team with a poor defence. I think we have a bit of both, we have a really good attacking look to us, we are finding it hard with the way some teams play against us but we are hard to play against as well.
"We have great competition at centre-half at the moment after terrific performances from Issa Diop and Craig Dawson (against Man United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday)."
Moyes is now preparing his Hammers side for tomorrow's trip to Elland Road, as they aim to end their run of three Premier League games without a win. body check tags ::
