Sunderland reject Paddy McNair bid?

A Premier League club reportedly fails with a bid to sign defender Paddy McNair from League One outfit Sunderland.

Sunderland have reportedly decided to reject a bid from a Premier League club for Paddy McNair.

The Black Cats have just been relegated from the Championship and despite the takeover of Stewart Donald and the arrival of new boss Jack Ross, changes are expected at the Stadium of Light.

However, according to the Sunderland Echo, the North-East outfit have no intention of entertaining offers - especially for their younger talent - which do not meet their valuation.

The report claims that a top-flight side have made an offer for McNair but suggests that the bid for the Northern Ireland international was quickly turned down.

McNair has spent the last two seasons at the club but a serious knee injury has restricted the former Manchester United trainee to 28 appearances in all competitions.

The 23-year-old still has two years remaining on his existing deal.
