Report: Tottenham Hotspur enter race to sign Barcelona outcast Rafinha

A report claims that Barcelona midfielder Rafinha is a transfer target for Tottenham Hotspur, who may go head to head with West Ham United for the Brazilian's signature.

Tottenham Hotspur will rival London neighbours West Ham United for the signing of unwanted Barcelona midfielder Rafinha, according to a report.

The 25-year-old is understood to have been made available to purchase this summer as Barca need to free up space and funds for top target Antoine Griezmann.

Inter Milan were considered the favourites to sign the Brazilian on a permanent basis following his spell on loan at San Siro in the second half of last season.

Barca's £30m valuation has effectively killed off the Nerazzurri's interest, however, with West Ham instead seen as the new frontrunners.

Spanish outlet Sport suggests that Tottenham have identified Rafinha as a key target, though, and they are keen to beat their top-flight rivals to the Barca outcast's signature.

Rafinha played a direct part in five goals in 12 starts last time out to help Inter return to the Champions League.
