Manchester City have no plans to buy or sell any players in the January transfer window, according to a report.

It has previously been reported that forward Raheem Sterling is keen to leave the Etihad Stadium, having failed to cement a regular place in Pep Guardiola's starting lineup, with newly-appointed Barcelona manager Xavi interested in recruiting the 26-year-old.

The Premier League champions have also been tipped to reignite their interest in Tottenham Hotspur talisman Harry Kane, as they continue to search for a new centre-forward.

However, The Mirror reports that City have no intentions to be active in the winter window and are planning to stick with their current squad for the rest of the season.

The report adds that the Citizens will not allow Sterling to join Barcelona on loan and will also rebuff any cash offers for the England international.

Furthermore, the future of Kane in North London will only change if Tottenham decide to cash in on the 28-year-old and lower their £150m valuation, a fee that City are not prepared to pay.

City have also been linked with the likes of Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic and Barcelona's Frenkie De Jong, however a move to Manchester for either player in January is now considered unlikely. body check tags ::
