Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Bruno Lage says that Adama Traore has not been negatively impacted by speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London outfit have allegedly made a £15m bid for the Spain international, significantly below Wolves' valuation of the player.

While Traore has been below his best this season, the winger scored his first goal of the Premier League campaign against Southampton last weekend.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference, Lage has talked up the professionalism of the 25-year-old, as well as insisting that he intends to "protect" him from any outside noise.

The Portuguese said: "I don't see any difference in his behaviour, his mentality or the way he works. The club talks with him, they will decide the future. I'm happy with him.

"I don't know how much Spurs offered or if they did an offer. I won't talk about money, that's not for me. We have a top player, a lovely guy. Sometimes this is about business. I remember how much Spurs protect [Harry] Kane. We will protect our player."

Traore has less than 18 months remaining on his contract at Molineux. body check tags ::
