Juventus have reportedly agreed a new five-year contract with Brazilian centre-back Gleison Bremer.

The former Torino man has been a stalwart of the Bianconeri's backline since making the move across Turin in 2022, playing 60 times for Massimiliano Allegri's side over the past year and a half.

Bremer has come up with six goals and one assist for Juventus across all competitions in the process, justifying his €41m (£35.6m) price tag with a string of excellent displays in the ongoing campaign.

The 26-year-old has started each of Juve's opening 17 Serie A games of the 2023-24 campaign, helping Allegri's men keep nine clean sheets and netting a solitary goal in a 2-1 win over Cagliari in November.

Bremer's existing contract at the Allianz Stadium does not expire until the summer of 2027, but the Old Lady have made it a priority to reward the defender's performances with a new-and-improved deal.

Back in November, it was reported that Bremer's entourage were on the verge of agreeing a renewal with Juventus, who are also aiming to fend off potential January interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Now, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the defender has given the thumbs-up to a new five-year contract until the summer of 2028, and his renewal will include a salary increase as expected.

Juventus apparently expect Bremer to officially put pen to paper in the next few days before making an official announcement, as the Old Lady secure the long-term future of another fundamental cog in Allegri's team.

Over the past six months, Juventus have tied Fabio Miretti and Kenan Yildiz down to new terms until the summer of 2027, while Nicolo Fagioli, Federico Gatti and Manuel Locatelli have all renewed until 2028.

In addition, Arkadiusz Milik, Wojciech Szczesny, Danilo, Carlo Pinsoglio and Adrien Rabiot have also seen their terms extended, although the latter is still due to become a free agent at the end of the season.

Juventus are working to keep Rabiot on the books beyond the summer of 2024, though, and experienced defender Daniele Rugani is in the same boat as he prepares to enter the final six months of his terms.

Juventus sit second in the Serie A table, four points worse off than leaders Inter Milan, and Allegri's men are back at the Allianz Stadium against Roma on Saturday evening. body check tags ::
