Tottenham Hotspur 'want Mauricio Pochettino back as manager'

Figures inside Tottenham Hotspur reportedly want to see the club try to reappoint Mauricio Pochettino as manager from Paris Saint-Germain.

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly wanted back by some of those inside the club.

The Argentine was in control of the reins for over five years in North London before being sacked from his post in November 2019, and his successor Jose Mourinho was given the boot by Daniel Levy last month.

Pochettino has since completed his first half-season at Paris Saint-Germain, where he scooped a Coupe de France win but relinquished the Ligue 1 title to Lille and suffered semi-final heartbreak to Manchester City in the Champions League.

With Spurs yet to appoint a permanent replacement for Mourinho, The Independent claims that figures at the club would like to see Pochettino welcomed back to the English capital.

The report claims that Pochettino's largely unsuccessful first season in Paris could lead to such a move being plausible, but the Argentine would be unlikely to leave his Parisiens post so soon after joining.

Spurs have already missed out on rumoured managerial targets Julian Nagelsmann, Brendan Rodgers and Erik ten Hag, and Daniel Levy is believed to have whittled his search down to a four-man shortlist. body check tags ::
