Former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly made the Tottenham Hotspur job his main priority.

The 35-year-old is on the lookout for a new job, after being relieved of his duties as Bayern head coach last month.

Nageslmann, who was sacked following a 2-1 Bundesliga defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, left the club after winning a league title and two German Super Cups.

Having previously managed Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, Nagelsmann is now being linked with his first job outside of Germany.

Despite being sacked by Bayern, Nagelsmann is still viewed as one of the brightest young coaches in Europe and was believed to be in contention for the vacant manager's position at Chelsea.

Nagelsmann was interviewed by the club's hierarchy, but on Friday, it was revealed that he has withdrawn from the race to become the new Chelsea boss.

As a result, former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the frontrunner for the managerial hot seat at Stamford Bridge.

Nagelsmann will continue his job search, and according to journalist Christian Falk, he is turning his attention to the Tottenham job.

Spurs are currently searching for a permanent manager after Antonio Conte was sacked last month and replaced by his assistant Cristian Stellini, who is in temporary charge until the end of the season.

The report suggests that Nagelsmann would accept the position if he was offered it by Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy.

Tottenham are keen to appoint a manager that views the club as his first choice, and Nagelsmann's stance could help him land the role.

However, there is no indication that Nagelsmann is close to being appointed, as a number of names continue to be linked with the North London club.

Luis Enrique, Arne Slot, Vincent Kompany, Will Still and Brendan Rodgers have all been mooted as potential candidates for the job.

Spurs, who are sitting in fifth position, are preparing to face fourth-placed Newcastle United at St James' Park on Sunday. body check tags ::
