Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Cristian Stellini has revealed that Hugo Lloris is back available for Monday's Premier League clash with Everton, but six other players are absent.

Lloris has not taken to the field since February's win over Manchester City, where he completed the full 90 minutes despite suffering damaged knee ligaments.

The former France international was subsequently ruled out for between five and seven weeks, allowing Fraser Forster to step in for Spurs' last nine matches in all tournaments.

In that time, Forster has kept clean sheets against AC Milan, West Ham United and Chelsea, which earned him a recall to the England squad in place of the injured Nick Pope.

However, Lloris took part in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Ipswich Town last week, and Stellini should be able to count on the 36-year-old for the resumption of Premier League football.

Ivan Perisic has also recovered from a kick, bur Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ben Davies (thigh), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), Yves Bissouma (ankle), Emerson Royal (knee) and Richarlison (muscle) remain absent.

"Hugo has been training since last week. Training with the team, we didn't have more of the team until Wednesday. Hugo is fitting in well," football.london quotes Stellini as saying in his pre-game press conference.

"Emerson had the surgery, Bissouma is not ready to play. Bentancur out for the season and Richarlison with problems and Ben Davies and Sessegnon are pushing to recover.

"They are not ready but they are pushing to recover as soon as possible. Perisic is fit and well and he trained today. It was only a kick."

Stellini had already taken charge of Tottenham games during Conte's absences through suspension and illness, but Monday's game marks the 48-year-old's first game as acting head coach since his compatriot's departure by mutual consent.

The Lilywhites' tumultuous week reached an ever lower ebb when sporting director Fabio Paratici was slapped with an extended worldwide ban by FIFA for his involvement in alleged financial irregularities during his time at Juventus.

Attempting to restore some order on the field, Stellini has insisted that his relationship with former boss Conte remains "very close" and he is not in control of the reins for "vanity" reasons.

"I want to clarify that the decision was taken for the best of the club and for everyone. Antonio is good. Everyone took the decision altogether for the best of the club," Stellini added.

"My relationship with Antonio is still the same, very close and nothing changed between us. I have to say thank you because I have improved a lot in my career under him and it's because of him.

When asked if the next two months could kickstart a career in management, Stellini responded: "It's the next step to work hard for the next 10 games. Nothing has to change in my mind. I'm not here for vanity. I'm here to help this club."

Tottenham return to action sat fourth in the Premier League table, but they could drop out of the Champions League spots by Monday if Newcastle United - who sit two points behind with two games in hand - overcome Manchester United on Sunday afternoon. body check tags ::
