Sheffield United have two Darragh Lenihan bids rejected?

Blackburn Rovers academy graduate Darragh Lenihan could reportedly be the subject of a third Sheffield United bid after they fell short with their first two attempts.

Blackburn Rovers have knocked back two bids from newly-promoted Championship club Sheffield United for defender Darragh Lenihan, according to a report.

The Blades are said to have had a second offer of £500,000 turned down on Tuesday and are now preparing another approach.

Sky Sports News suggests that Blackburn are keen to keep the 23-year-old, however, seeing him as a key part of their plans to return to the second tier at the first time of asking.

Lenihan came through Rovers' academy system and still has two years to run on his existing deal at Ewood Park.

United are also understood to be interested in free agent Mike Williamson, meanwhile, with the 33-year-old being left without a club following his release by Wolverhampton Wanderers in May.
