Carlos Tevez 'ready to leave Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua'

Carlos Tevez is allegedly on the verge of leaving Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua after just seven months.

Shanghai Shenhua striker Carlos Tevez is allegedly ready to leave the club just seven months after they made him the world's highest-paid player.

The Argentine has failed to settle in the Far East following his lucrative switch from boyhood team Boca Juniors, according to TMW.

Tevez has scored just twice in 13 games for the Super League outfit, who have underperformed this season, lying 20 points behind leaders Guangzhou Evergrande with 10 games remaining.

Boca bagged £73m when Tevez joined Shenhua, but could be forced to repay £41m of that sum if the former Juventus and Manchester City striker leaves before his two-year deal has expired.

The report adds that it is unclear whether Tevez will return to the Argentine side.

Meanwhile, Shenhua manager Gus Poyet is reportedly on the verge of being dismissed from his post following a string of below-par results.
