Roma attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan is reportedly set to be offered a new contract, with his current deal due to expire on June 30.

The 32-year-old scored 15 goals and provided 13 assists in 46 appearances for Roma this season, and he will be reunited with former Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho next season.

Mkhitaryan's relationship with the Portuguese manager at Old Trafford was seen to be quite tense as the Armenian's performances sparked criticism from Mourinho.

The Daily Mail reports that the Italian club have offered Mkhitaryan a new two-year deal worth £3.8m per season and the player must decide whether or not to accept the terms within the next 48 hours.

Prior to Mourinho being announced as the new Roma manager, Mkhitaryan admitted that his relationship with Mourinho was challenging but that it did not stop the side from winning trophies.

Mkhitaryan joined Roma from Arsenal in 2019, initially on loan, and has gone on to make 73 appearances for the club, managing 24 goals and 19 assists during that time. body check tags ::
