Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Atletico Madrid

:Headline: Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Atletico Madrid: ID:437404: from db_amp
Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga showdown with Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid square off against rivals Atletico Madrid on Sunday afternoon looking to move to within two points of the La Liga leaders.

Los Blancos are unbeaten in their last five matches in Spain's top flight, collecting 13 points from a possible 15 to remain in contention for the league crown.

However, Monday's 1-1 draw against Real Sociedad has halted the club's momentum at a time when Zinedine Zidane is having to contend with a well-populated treatment room.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Real's injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with their neighbours at Wanda Metropolitano.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: Unknown

Carvajal suffered a recurrence of a hamstring problem against Valencia earlier this month, and the right-back is now facing another period on the sidelines.

Sergio Ramos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ramos, who has still not signed a new deal with Madrid, underwent a knee operation earlier this month to address a meniscus issue, and the club captain is not expected to be available until April.

Karim Benzema

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: March 7 (vs. Atletico)

While Benzema has missed Madrid's last three matches with an ankle problem, Zidane has suggested that the Frenchman will feature at the weekend providing that he comes through training this week.

Eden Hazard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: March 7 (vs. Atletico)

Having made progress in his recovery from a muscle issue, Hazard could return to the squad at the weekend. However, the Belgium international would only be named among the replacements.

Eder Militao

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Adductor
Possible return date: March 7 (vs. Atletico)

Not much is known about the severity of Militao's adductor injury with the 23-year-old having been sidelined since the end of January. Even if passed fit, the Brazilian would only be named on the substitutes' bench.

Mariano Diaz

Status: Out
Type of injury: Pelvis
Possible return date: Unknown

After being withdrawn during the game with Sociedad, Mariano has been ruled out of this contest with a pelvic injury. As it stands, Real are yet to reveal when the attacker could be back in contention.

REAL MADRID'S SUSPENSION LIST

Madrid have no suspension issues for this match.
