Sergio Aguero breaks his goalscoring duck against Real Madrid with a strike in Barcelona's 2-1 defeat at Camp Nou.

Sergio Aguero finally broke his goalscoring duck against Real Madrid with an effort against Carlo Ancelotti's side during Sunday's El Clasico at Camp Nou.

The 33-year-old missed the start of the 2021-22 campaign with a calf problem and had to wait until October 17 to make his Barcelona debut, featuring against Valencia in La Liga.

Entering Sunday's La Liga clash with Real Madrid, Aguero had failed to find the back of the net in 14 appearances against the capital giants during his time with Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.

However, the Argentina international finally got his name on the scoresheet against the Whites with a late goal in Barcelona's 2-1 defeat to their bitter rivals.

Los Blancos took the lead at Camp Nou courtesy of a 33rd-minute effort from David Alaba, before Lucas Vazquez all but made sure of the points in the 93rd minute.

There was time for a late consolation for Ronald Koeman's team, though, with Aguero converting a cross from Sergino Dest to ensure that the home supporters had something to cheer on a disappointing afternoon. body check tags ::
