Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has a number of decisions to make in terms of team selection for Tuesday's Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk.

Eden Hazard was back training on the grass on Sunday as he recovers from a muscular problem, and there is a chance that the Belgium international could be included in the travelling squad.

Mariano Diaz, Marcelo and Marco Asensio could also be passed fit after missing out against Espanyol before the international break, but Ferland Mendy, Gareth Bale, Dani Ceballos, Dani Carvajal and Isco remain out.

There had been fears over David Alaba and Eder Militao, but both players are expected to be available, while Eduardo Camavinga has returned to training following a foot problem.

Ancelotti could decide to revert to a 4-3-3 formation on Tuesday night, with Rodrygo potentially joining Vinicius Junior and Karim Benzema in the final third of the field.

Los Blancos have plenty of options in the middle of the park; Casemiro and Toni Kroos should both start, while Federico Valverde could get the nod over Luka Modric.

Lucas Vazquez and Nacho will go head-to-head for the right-back spot, with the latter potentially just getting the nod, while Alaba could start in central defence with Marcelo at left-back.

Real Madrid possible starting lineup: Courtois; Nacho, Militao, Alaba, Marcelo; Valverde, Casemiro, Kroos; Vinicius, Benzema, Rodrygo body check tags ::
