Sports Mole previews Sunday's Women's Super League clash between Reading Women and Manchester City Women, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Reading Women will play host to Manchester City Women on Sunday with the home side looking to end a 10-game winless run in all competitions.

The visitors, meanwhile, will be aiming to keep hold of third spot, which would secure them a place in next season's Champions League.

Match preview

Reading enter the final matchday of the season in eighth place, and though they will not finish lower than that position, they could still achieve a top-half finish.

If the Royals are to stand any chance of moving into the top six, they must end a nine-game winless run, which has included six defeats.

They managed to avoid a third consecutive defeat last weekend after they played out a goalless draw with Leicester City.

The Royals do, however, enter Sunday's contest off the back of consecutive home defeats, which will concern Kelly Chambers ahead of the Man City clash.

Reading have tended to do their best work on home turf demonstrated by the fact that they have collected 16 of their 25 points from their home league games.

Man City currently find themselves in third spot, with two points separating them from their local rivals Manchester United, who sit in fourth place.

Three points on Sunday would secure City Champions League qualification, while a point may also be enough due to their superior goal difference.

However, if Gareth Taylor's side lose at the weekend then they would only finish in the top three if Man United fail to beat Chelsea.

The visitors head into the final matchday in a confident mood after winning their last 12 matches in all competitions, including 7-2 and 6-0 victories in their last two games.

Having won four of their last five meetings with Reading, the visitors will enter Sunday's contest full of belief.

Team News

The hosts are without Emma Harries, who is currently sidelined with a posterior cruciate ligament injury.

Natasha Harding will make her 84th and final league appearance for the hosts on Sunday, with the 33-year-old set to depart Reading at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Natasha Dowie is expected to continue in the forward line after coming into the starting lineup against Leicester.

As for the visitors, Vicky Losada could come into the squad following a spell on the sidelines, while Jess Park is also nearing a return, although Sunday's fixture may come too soon for the 20-year-old.

Georgia Stanway scored two goals in midweek, and she will continue to operate in a midfield three alongside Keira Walsh and Caroline Weir.

After dropping to the bench for the Birmingham contest, Chloe Kelly is expected to return to the starting lineup on Sunday.

Reading Women possible starting lineup:
Moloney; Bryson, Evans, Harding, Woodham; Rose, Vanhaevermaet, Troelgaard; Eikeland, Dowie, Rowe

Manchester City Women possible starting lineup:
Roebuck; Bronze, Kennedy, Greenwood, Stokes; Stanway, Walsh, Weir; Kelly, Hemp, Shaw

We say: Reading Women 1-3 Manchester City Women

Although the pressure is on Man City to win on Sunday, we think that they will have enough quality to beat a Reading side that are struggling for points of late.
